Consider The Lilies

This is a pastel painting I created after reading Matthew 6: 28, and felt inspired to paint something with this scripture in mind. I was humbled by the awesome task of painting the Savior. My main desire was to create a setting with soft lighting, something peaceful that would show the Savior in a cool and quiet courtyard, taking refuge from the heat of the day. In a moment of rest, he takes the time to consider the beauty of a lily. My hope is that as we contemplate Christ's consideration of a lily, perhaps we can sense the magnitude of his love for his creations of which we are a part.
