Pearl as a Moon series

This is a tribute to Barbara Berger's book, "Grandfather Twilight," that I used to read to my children. If you want to see it read, I'll include the YouTube link. It's such a beautiful book.
Here is my version:
She lives in a small stone cottage among trees and flowers. As the light in the sky turns periwinkel, she checks the hour, stirs the coals in the fireplace and banks the first for the night. Next, she takes out an endless strand of pearls. She lifts the strand and takes one magical pearl from it. Then, holding the pearl in her hand, she leaves her little stone cabin with her faithful collie, following patiently, as they begin their nightly walk. She walks through her garden yard, admiring all the beauty around her, and the pearl moon grows larger. Snow gently falls on the green landscape. As she leaves the garden gate, small birds hush. The night sky is full of diamond stars, and all is quiet around her. Gently, she gives the pearl moon to the silence of the starry night. Then she goes home again. Puts the strand of pearls away, brushes her long russet hair, gets ready for bed and goes to sleep.
